Penguin Suits

(a poem on RC hell week)

Wildly different one-by-one we entered the club
Stuff of great expectations
But
The wooden walls, overstuffed chairs,
Heavy doors, and golden words
Penetrate
Melting the edges

And down the grand Spangler Hall in Penguin suits
We walk
Heads held high
Blank stares screwed on tight
Imagining the future
Tip tap
Click clack
We walk
2-by-2
Perfectly molded
