Jay Light was appointed the new Dean last week. Light, a 35 year veteran of HBS, has been acting Dean since last August. The appointment was greeted enthusiastically by professors, who rose in standing ovation at the announcement. However, students were more cautious (see poll results below and Letters to the Editor on page 2). Light is likely to face several challenges in his term as Dean, including increasing collaboration with other Harvard schools, increasing globalization of management education and the expansion of the Allston campus.
