At Cyberposium last weekend I had the pleasure of speaking with two very different men who both have very distinctive visions of the future. Ray Kurzweil is a futurist, inventor, entrepreneur and author who successfully predicted many of the trends of the last thirty years and has calculated that there is a good chance man will achieve immortality within our lifetime. There is no magic formula for a happy Learning Team Relationship (LTR), but I have a few tips from RC and EC experiences: Pixxy-Trixabelle* (22, NA) is distraught. "My Learning Team just dumped me. I thought everything was going so well until last week! How can they leave me at a time like this?" Pixxy-Trixabelle is not alone: all over campus RCs are learning alone, many still hurt by a recent split that they didn't see coming. (0) comments
I Prefer Eternal Darkness to Light The other day the wild turkey wandered off its regular course near Burden and found itself in the back garden of Dean Light's impressive house. Curious, the turkey snuck into Light's dining room through a back window. Dean Light was at the dinner table with 5 HBS students. (0) comments
It seems that last week's Random Rants column was not nearly controversial, provoking or insulting enough to generate the scores of angry emails I was hoping to see flood my inbox. In attempt, therefore, to prod my beloved readers out of their mid-Fall rainy day apathy I have chosen this week to rant about people rather than things, in the hope that I touch a nerve somewhere for somebody.
