Rummaging through old drafts of possible HBS Show script ideas, I found the rough outlines of a story called "LEAD of the Flies" in which the evil LEAD professor is played by a Soviet general named Pasivlov Agresivan Sonovovich. Here are some of his long-lost lines: What do you do with employees who are secret informers? Is leadership all about tough decisions, like when to put Lassie to sleep? Your ignorance could even kill Rasputin. (0) comments
I came straight from Ghana to sunny Miami for College. So when I moved to Boston last year, winter was something new to me, despite having lived eight years in the U.S. In November I called one of my boys in the lower latitudes, lamenting how cold it was getting and how I did not know how I was going to cope with it. Cold call summary: The protagonist is in a difficult situation here. There is an important decision to make, and a lot of external factors which need to be taken into account. I think that it is important to begin by clarifying the objectives-what we need to achieve, who the stakeholders are, and in what time frame are we operating. (0) comments
The hallmark of a good HBS case is the first paragraph. When done right, it sets the scene for a case and gives us a clever insight into the case protagonist. When I first arrived at HBS, I looked forward to those first few lines. However, after 600 odd cases, it's getting stale; there are only so many times that I can read about a protagonist looking out of their window of their 50th story office. (0) comments
