On February 5th, Francis Mer, the French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry, spoke at HBS on the topic of "Reflections on Corporate Ethics in our Global Economies and the Attractiveness of the French Economy" Mr. Mer, who was appointed Minister in May 2002, is the first business executive to take up that post.
"Russia is not a normal country," said Professor Marshall Goldman, an internationally recognized authority on Russian politics and economics, in his meeting with HBS students on February 9th. Professor Goldman of the Davis Center for Russian Studies at Harvard University came to campus to talk about his recent book "The Piratization of Russia: Russian Reform Goes Awry".

The Committee on College Life (CCL) at Harvard University has voted to approve the H-Bomb, a magazine that will be run by students and which will feature fiction, sex advice, art and also, nude photographs of Harvard undergraduate students. Fourteen members of the CCL approved the H-Bomb as an official Harvard publication.
Members of Harvard Business School's (HBS) Armed Forces Alumni Association (AFAA) are signing on to share 72 hours outside a two-person tent on the frozen ground in front of the Spangler Center from noon on Tuesday February 17th to noon Friday February 20th, to raise awareness and funds for the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans.
Oh, to be an admitted student again! Those were the salad days - the magnificent, magical months between receiving Brit Dewey's letter and actually arriving at HBS. Full of expectation, full of promise, we achieved a new level of enlightenment in our life and in our work.
