Dr. Daniel Vasella, CEO, Novartis AG, received the HBS 2003 Alumni Achievement Award last week. He has had an extraordinarily successful career, switching from the medical field to the management sector in 1988 and rising to become CEO of Sandoz in eight short years.
Last week, Jeff Raikes, group vice president of Productivity and Business Services (PBS) at Microsoft, landed on campus to meet with students and members of the HTNM club. A Nebraska native, Raikes joined Microsoft in 1981 as a product manager in its applications group.
Deepawali (deep = light and avali = a row i.e., a row of lights) or Diwali is the most celebrated festival in India. During the four days of the festival, people celebrate by igniting diyas (oil lamps) and firecrackers, playing cards, eating sweets, and shopping for the New Year.
Sometimes, students in sections are not really in the MBA program. Rather, they're there just for the first semester. Who are they? To the Editor: * I would like to clear up a couple of inaccuracies in your article "Is HBS Safe?" (October 6th issue): * It is misleading to state that there are no patrols on campus between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. In fact, there is 24-hour coverage, including patrols, seven days a week by the Harvard University Parking Services, the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD), and HBS Security.
On Monday October 13, MSNBC and the Institute of Politics at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government (KSG) kicked off the series Hardball: Battle for the White House, Live from Harvard with host Chris Matthews and Democratic Presidential candidate Senator John Edwards of North Carolina.
