Founded in 1997 by the Harbus News Corporation, the mission of the entirely student-run Harbus Foundation is to provide grants to support education, literacy and journalism projects in the Boston area, and in the process, instruct Harvard Business School students in the management and operation of a grant-making foundation.
Doctor's Orders: "Eat better, sleep more, exercise more, and obsess and stress less". Chances are, between classes and company presentations, study groups and social events, most HBS students will be hard pressed to follow these recommendations, or even to manage three out of the four.
In its third annual ranking of the top graduate business schools, the Wall Street Journal/Harris Interactive placed Harvard Business School at #8 based on the opinions of 2,191 M.B.A. recruiters who rated the schools and students on 26 attributes. While HBS received top marks for its faculty and for its academic excellence, specifically in areas of general management, strategy, entrepreneurship, and international business, recruiters pointedly described HBS students as "poor team players" and faulted graduates for a "lack of fundamental analytical skills.
Since last week, HBS is a more environmentally friendly place to be. Few people noticed the electricity generation solar panels being installed on Shad's roof, but the building will now generate around 36kW of power at peak times, which is the equivalent of the energy needs of 20 households.
