A Walk in the Rain with Warren Buffet

Warren Buffet, among other things, is known for his ability to choose winning teams and let them soar. Following his talk in Burden, the Harbus had the opportunity to take a pleasant stroll in the rain with the "Oracle of Omaha" to discuss his strategies on investing in winning leaders in today's global economy.

Granular Ink team, which includes two HBS students, has been selected as one of the finalists in the Carrot Capital Business Plan Challenge, a nationwide business plan competition geared towards helping university entrepreneurs get their businesses funded.

It might be obvious to state it but we all have very different ideas about how we are going to make our mark on the world. Last year Tony Deifell (MBA'02) came up with the idea of celebrating the different goals and perspectives of HBS students in a series of black and white portraits, accompanied by some unique personal statements.

On June 4th, the day before graduation, the Class of 2003 students, families and faculty will gather for Class Day. Class Day gives us all a chance to reflect on our experiences at HBS and to spend time together the day before Commencement. Events will include a ceremony with a guest speaker, an elected student speaker, and faculty award recipients.

Warren Buffett Speaks His Mind in Burden Auditorium

The man who as a boy collected and sold used golf balls, started a pinball machine business in high school, and later stepped in as the interim chairman and chief executive of Salomon Brothers for an annual salary of one dollar, rolled into town last week full of the honesty, insightfulness and good humor for which he is known and revered.

If you have taken BGIE, you are aware of the issues. If you have taken IMAGE or Economic Strategies of Nations, you have heard the names. On April 23, you saw the faces. At the invitation of the Harvard International Business and Development Club, 2001 Nobel Prize Winner in Economics Joseph Stiglitz and renown Kennedy School Professor Dani Rodrik presented "Two Views on Globalization" to an oversubscribed Spangler Auditorium last Wednesday, highlighting their latest thinking on globalization and the rules that govern it.
